ZOTERO - A GREAT RESEARCH TOOL
I have recently started back to school in my pursuit of a Ph.D. in Information Technology. I new it would be difficult and that there would be a great deal of research to do and keep up with. And man was I right! I haven't done this much reading in a long time - and to be honest not all of that reading is fun.
I have to keep up with a lot of research and capturing all of the pertinent information (especially citations in proper APA format) was becoming a hassle. So, I did a little searching and came across ZOTERO. Zotero is a browser (Firefox) based plugin that can capture my papers from several of the sites I frequent, store them in a database for me and then spit them back at me when I need them later. It's free, its slick, and it has plug ins for OpenOffice and Microsoft Word that allow you to create bibliographys with just a few clicks. For those of you in similar situations (i.e. school or just need to keep citations of papers) this tool is very good.
